At Ft Hood Memorial Service. King Obama gives no respect or dignity to this country as well as those who were killed by a Muslim Terrorist. Maybe it is because the Muslim Terrorist is on his team. This murdering Muslim Terrorist Nidal Malik Hasan, who killed and wounded the soldiers and civilians at Ft Hood, Texas was an advisor to Obama’s Homeland Security team. How can the American people respect Obama when he does not respect his office. Not to salute the flag–wear jeans, suede jackets when other digniteries are dressed with respect to the meeting and their country. Has he not done enough to lower our standards?
Both Snopes and ToF.com have already debunked this one. The short answer:
1) This wasn’t Ft. Hood, nor was it Veterans Day. This picture is 6 months old, taken at a Memorial Day service.
2) This picture is taken during the playing of “Hail to the Chief”. Obama is the one being saluted!
Of course, I know that last fact is what really drives wingnuts crazy.

Well, L.A. Mott, looks like you are dead wrong on this one. If this picture was taken during “Hail to the Chief,” then the other people on the dais would be facing HIM during the salute. It’s obvious that you yourself know nothing about Customs and Courtesies when it comes to this matter. So if you are wrong about this point (which you obviously are, then what else are you wrong about?
Actually, you don’t FACE the President, you FACE a KING, or a dictator! It is not required to salute facing the president. The President does not salute himself!

Check out this latest picture from Veterans Day 11/11/09 at the Ceremony in Arlington National Cemetery. I don’t know whether the National Anthem is being played, or the Flag is going by, or WHAT, but EVERYBODY in the picture is either saluting or has his hand over the HEART.

Our president, “honoring” the 14 dead (an unborn child…not a fetus… was the 14th!) at the hands of a Muslim home grown terrorist!!! Any questions “still” about the allegiance of the Usurper and who he will stand with “should the political winds of change shift in an ugly direction?” To hell with a rope…bring me a Scimitar…the Muslim sword of choice for beheadings!!!
Origins: The above-displayed photograph does not hail from a November 2009 observance of Veterans Day (or a Fort Hood memorial service); it was taken several months earlier at Arlington National Cemetery’s Memorial Amphitheater in conjunction with a wreath-laying ceremony at the Tomb of the Unknowns:
President Obama observed Memorial Day just as his predecessors had, by placing a wreath at the Tomb of the Unknowns.
But Mr. Obama added a twist: he sent a second wreath to a memorial honoring blacks who fought in the Civil War.
“They felt some tug; they answered a call; they said, ‘I’ll go,’” Mr. Obama said after the wreath-laying ceremony in a 12-minute address paying tribute to veterans and fallen soldiers. “That is why they are the best of America, and that is what separates them from those of us who have not served in uniform: their extraordinary willingness to risk their lives for people they never met.”
As can be seen in the following video clip of the event, this picture was snapped just as President Obama took the stage in the Memorial Amphitheater during the playing of “Hail to the Chief.” Hence, the photo is not, as suggested above, a picture of the president inappropriately standing with his hands folded while others pay their respects to America’s war dead with traditional gestures; it is a picture of others showing appropriate deference during the playing of music that represents their president and commander-in-chief. (Department of Defense instructions state that “During all renditions of ‘Hail to the Chief’ by military musical organizations, military personnel in uniform, other than band personnel, shall accord it the same honor as they would the rendition of ‘The Star-Spangled Banner.’” Similar protocol is optional for non-uniformed civilians.)
President Obama can also be viewed in C-SPAN video of the event standing with his hand over his heart at appropriate portions of the ceremony, while a news photograph similarly captured the president paying his respects in that manner:

There are so many things this clown does 20 years in the church of hate and in DC can not find one that meets his need for putting the United States down his state of the Union speech of lies. 2. Snopes, TOF, and UrbanLegend are nonbiased sources. I am sure you have all used them to validate things in the past. Stop attacking LA Mott, he cited a source. He didn’t make broad general assertions like all of you”experts” did. If you won’t believe a third party source then this discussion is over because you cannot be convinced with logic! Please tell me, how can I refute you if not with that? Seriously, please tell me.
3. Stop spinning your wheels and go volunteer somewhere. If you are so worried about America, maybe you should start trying to help it instead of aimlessly bitching.

I also googled this and find quite a few photos of this memorial service and Obama is indeed saluting or has his hand over his heart in these photos.
You people are just consumed with hatred for the President. There’s no other explanation for it. You have no idea what the circumstances were. No idea what was happening in front of the dais while the officers next to him were saluting. None. A civilian doesn’t salute unless he’s saluted first. He hadn’t been saluted. It wasn’t during a flag salute. It wasn’t during the pledge of allegiance or the singing of the national anthem.

It may indeed be that Obama did or didn’t salute and who knows what the service was that this photo was taken at. I don’t know why anyone (on the left or right) would photoshop something just to cause conflict but those individuals are out there. I will say this after reading your posting BrainTrust. I listened to EIGHT long years of venemous hatred for George Bush for little if any reason from the left. He governed largely from the center and had very moderate social policies spending far more money that any real conservative on social programs and domestic programs, and yet, you all vilified him endlessly. So please don’t lecture conservatives about “hatred” for Obama. I like many conservatives don’t hate him, we do fear what he’s done and what he might do down the road because he’s driven by socialist and marxist beliefs.
