FRONT ROYAL, Va., April 21 /Christian Newswire/ — Once again, “American Idol” is aligning itself with pro-abortion groups. Among the groups benefiting this year’s “Idol Gives Back” fund-raising campaign are Save the Children and the United Nations Foundation. “Idol Gives Back,” which airs tonight, will feature several celebrities who will urge Americans to make a donation.

Save the Children has a working relationship with what it calls “prominent international organizations.” Several of these groups are actively pro-abortion, including Better World Fund, Center for Reproductive Rights, Planned Parenthood Federation of America, Population Action International, and the U.S. Committee for UNICEF. Wrong video of health protest spurs N-word feud

April 13th, 2010 Grungeman No comments

as they walked through thousands of angry protesters outside the U.S. Capitol. A white lawmaker says he heard the epithets too. Conservative activists say the lawmakers are lying.
What does the video show? Not much. Indeed, new interviews show that a much-viewed YouTube recording cited as evidence by conservatives was actually shot well after the time in question.
It was March 20, near the end of the bitter health care debate, when Reps. John Lewis, Andre Carson and Emanuel Cleaver say that some demonstrators, many of them tea party activists, yelled the N-word as the congressmen walked from House office buildings to the Capitol.
Stung by the charges of racism, conservatives and tea party activists insist it never happened. And one of them is offering big money if anyone can prove it did.
With so many media and citizen cameras at the demonstration, any epithets would have been caught on tape, says Andrew Breitbart. He’s the web entrepreneur who released the video of ACORN workers counseling actors posing as a pimp and prostitute, and has pledged $100,000 to the United Negro College Fund if anyone provides proof of the epithets. Polish president’s aircraft ‘warned not to land’

April 12th, 2010 Grungeman No comments

Polish pilots of the government airliner that crashed on Saturday in Smolensk, killing the country’s president and other dignitaries, were warned not to land because of adverse weather conditions, Sergei Ivanov, Russia’s deputy prime minister, said on Monday.

He said an initial examination of the flight’s black box recorders showed the crew had been clearly warned it was not a good idea to try to land the plane.

The airplane descended in thick fog and clipped some trees, crashing several hundred metres short of the runway.

Lech Kaczynski, Poland’s president, was killed, along with 95 others, including many dignitaries on their way to ceremonies at Katyn forest, not far from Smolensk – one of the places where the Soviets executed more than 22,000 officers in 1940.

“The condition of both recorders…is satisfactory,” Mr Ivanov told a meeting of the special commission investigating the crash that is headed by Vladimir Putin, the Russian prime minister. Full Story

The Redneck tree hugger

Gary Hubbell: The Redneck tree hugger
Barack Obama has awakened a sleeping nation
Gary Hubbell
Aspen Times Weekly

Barack Obama is the best thing that has happened to America in the last 100 years. Truly, he is the savior of America’s future. He is the best thing ever.

Despite the fact that he has some of the lowest approval ratings among recent presidents, history will see Barack Obama as the source of America’s resurrection. Barack Obama has plunged the country into levels of debt that we could not have previously imagined; his efforts to nationalize health care have been met with fierce resistance nationwide; TARP bailouts and stimulus spending have shown little positive effect on the national economy; unemployment is unacceptably high and looks to remain that way for most of a decade; legacy entitlement programs have ballooned to unsustainable levels, and there is a seething anger in the populace. John Adams, in a letter to his wife Abigail in 1777

April 11th, 2010 Grungeman No comments

“Posterity! You will never know how much it cost us to preserve your freedom. I hope you will make a good use of it. If you do not, I shall repent in Heaven that I ever took half the pains to preserve it.”
– John Adams, in a letter to his wife Abigail in 1777 while he was a member of the Continental Congress in Philadelphia

“We have room for but one flag, the American Flag. We have room for but one language, the English language, and we have room for but one sole loyalty, and that is a loyalty to the American people. ” – - Theodore Roosevelt.

Gingrich: Obama is ‘most radical president ever’

April 9th, 2010 Grungeman No comments

“The most radical president in American history has now thrown down the gauntlet to the American people: ‘I run a machine. I own Washington and there’s nothing you can do about it,’” Gingrich said. He urged his fellow Republicans to stop what he called Obama’s “secular, socialist machine.”  Full Story

Uprising by Muse

April 9th, 2010 Grungeman No comments

A perfect song for our times:

The paranoia is in bloom, the PR

The transmissions will resume
They’ll try to push drugs
Keep us all dumbed down and hope that
We will never see the truth around
(So come on!)

Another promise, another scene, another
A package not to keep us trapped in greed
With all the green belts wrapped around our minds
And endless red tape to keep the truth confined
(So come on!)

They will not force us
They will stop degrading us
They will not control us
We will be victorious

Interchanging mind control
Come let the revolution take its toll if you could
Flick the switch and open your third eye, you’d see that
We should never be afraid to die
(So come on!)

Rise up and take the power back, it’s time that
The fat cats had a heart attack, you know that
Their time is coming to an end
We have to unify and watch our flag ascend

They will not force us
They will stop degrading us
They will not control us
We will be victorious

Hey .. hey … hey .. hey!

They will not force us
They will stop degrading us
They will not control us
We will be victorious

Hey .. hey … hey .. hey!

Michelle Obama, claims King Obama’s Home country is Kenya? Hmm…. Even if it’s not, even if Obama is an “American Citizen”. I really do not think they like America very much.

“We are over-taxed as it is,” Doris

April 6th, 2010 Grungeman No comments

Obama’s 17-minute, 2,500-word response to woman’s claim of being ‘over-taxed’
by Anne E. Kornblut

CHARLOTTE – Even by President Obama’s loquacious standards, an answer he gave here on health care Friday was a doozy.

Toward the end of a question-and-answer session with workers at an advanced battery technology manufacturer, a woman named Doris stood to ask the president whether it was a “wise decision to add more taxes to us with the health care” package.

“We are over-taxed as it is,” Doris said bluntly.

Obama started out feisty. “Well, let’s talk about that, because this is an area where there’s been just a whole lot of misinformation, and I’m going to have to work hard over the next several months to clean up a lot of the misapprehensions that people have,” the president said. Full Story

Afghan leader threatens to join Taliban

April 5th, 2010 Grungeman No comments

KABUL (AP) – Afghan President Hamid Karzai threatened over the weekend to quit the political process and join the Taliban if he continued to come under outside pressure to reform, several members of parliament said Monday.
Karzai made the unusual statement at a closed-door meeting Saturday with selected lawmakers—just days after kicking up a diplomatic controversy with remarks alleging foreigners were behind fraud in last year’s disputed elections.

Lawmakers dismissed the latest comment as hyperbole, but it will add to the impression the president—who relies on tens of thousands of U.S. and NATO forces to fight the insurgency and prop up his government—is growing increasingly erratic and unable to exert authority without attacking his foreign backers.

“He said that ‘if I come under foreign pressure, I might join the Taliban’,” said Farooq Marenai, who represents the Full Story

Karzai Slams the West Again

April 5th, 2010 Grungeman No comments

KABUL, Afghanistan—President Hamid Karzai lashed out at his Western backers for the second time in three days, accusing the U.S. of interfering in Afghan affairs and saying the Taliban insurgency would become a legitimate resistance movement if the meddling doesn’t stop.

Mr. Karzai, whose government is propped up by billions of dollars in Western aid and nearly 100,000 American troops fighting a deadly war against the Taliban, made the comments during a private meeting with about 60 or 70 Afghan lawmakers Saturday. Full Story

Millions Feel 7.2-Magnitude Earthquake

April 5th, 2010 Grungeman No comments

At least 100 aftershocks have been reported in the hours after Sunday afternoon’s magnitude-7.2 earthquake near the California-Mexico border. More aftershocks — some in the 5.0- to 6.0-magnitude range — are expected to shake Southern California this week.
“If you felt the first earthquake strongly, it’s likely you will feel the aftershocks,” said Caltech’s Dr. Lucy Jones. “It’s likely they will happen over the next few days. The chance of a magnitude-5.0 to 6.0 aftershock is pretty good. Full Story

Army: Gays still can be dismissed if they speak up

April 1st, 2010 Grungeman No comments

WASHINGTON (AP) – Reversing course, Army Secretary John McHugh warned soldiers Thursday that they still can be discharged for admitting they are gay, saying he misspoke earlier this week when he suggested the military’s “don’t ask, don’t tell” policy had been temporarily suspended.
The public stumble by a senior service official is an indication of the issue’s legal complexity. The Pentagon has said it wants to hear from gay troops as it conducts a broad study on how it could lift the ban, as President Barack Obama wants. Full Story
